“Huduma Day” celebration through Tree planting

Ever tried to sit down and think of a world without vegetation or trees? Today let's narrow that question to trees only! Where would fruits come from? How would the quality of air feel without oxygen? Where would birds put up their nests? Research shows that some trees provide spices and medicine from their barks, where would all that come from without the trees? Just but to mention a few.

Over the years, trees have decreased in number due to urbanisation and the development of settlements all over the world, not forgetting that most rural communities especially in sub-saharan Africa use trees as their main   source of energy for cooking and lighting. 

With reference to Climate Change, cutting down of trees is one of the main reasons why there are some places currently experiencing the diverse effects of climate change such as change in weather patterns resulting in floods and drought.

Trees have been on earth for the longest time providing man with a place to live, a place to get food and fruits from, provide a cool shade for relaxing from the scorching sun, providing housing for wildlife and birds and much more. Let's also allow them to live longer and continue providing the same services for our future generations by making it our personal responsibility to ensure that we increase tree coverage by planting more trees in every opportunity we can get for not only combating desertification and climate change but also ensuring our ecological systems flourish.

On the 10th October 2020, Huduma Day, 3Es Experience together with Skippy Adventures, Mishono Apparel, Kenya Water Tower Agency, Wildlife Boutique, Rotaract club of Karura, Rotary Club of Muthaiga, Greenline, Oshwal Academy and other partners joined forces to plant trees within the Nairobi National Park. It was a fun filled event of planting trees and encouraging environmental conservation. To us that is a service (huduma) to our environment to ensure it is conserved.
